Hello - I am from YARN's litter named: “This Little Pig”... I’m the only one left to adopt... My name is “This”... 😀

I am about 8 weeks old... I am a Shepherd Cross... We will put a picture of my mom in the comments below. I will be a large size dog who will need regular exercise and adventures to keep me happy and well adjusted all of my life.

I am still at YARN in Watson Lake... I would need a foster or adopter ready to accept me in the city - then YARN can seek a ride for me...

ALL potential adopters are required to submit an adoption application and be approved. You can do this online here: yukonanimalrescue.net/adoption-application/ Applications are considered in the order interest is received for each dog… But YARN will always pick the home that is best for “that dog”. You only have to apply once. If you don’t get the dog you applied for, your application will be filed. If you’ve applied before, send a message through the YARN page, to ask that your application be considered for a specific dog.

ADOPTABLE BOY - NEEDING A FOSTER HOME:

Hello... My name is “My Friend”... My face is sore from wrestling with a porcupine a few days ago…. I will arrive at the vet first thing this morning where the vet will pull quills while I take a little nap. I am grateful that a bunch of critter loving folks donated, so my brother and I could get help... I should be feeling a lot better before long. After I get finished at the vet, I will need a place to rest as I heal, while YARN seeks my new home... Maybe I can find someone willing to foster - with possible intent to adopt...?

A foster home with a securely fenced yard would be best – or folks who will use a 100% leashing/tethering policy anytime I’m outside of the house. As I am a large size dog a foster home with teens or older might be better, to avoid knock-over accidents…

My temporary foster says I am a very sweet boy with a good disposition, who has been very quiet. I’m a large sized dog, so I would do best in a home with teenagers & older, to prevent knock over accidents. My old owner didn’t think I’d be good with cats - or other small pets. I am not neutered yet, so best to avoid a foster home with other intact males at this point.

I am used to living outside on a chain... and I would be fine doing the same at a foster home, with a shelter. But my old owner says I can stay inside - and I will let you know when I have to go out... I would benefit with a foster willing to help me fine tune my indoor living skills... so I know how to be part of the family in my new fur-ever home.

My adoption fee will be exactly the cost of neutering me - a firm requirement. All potential adopters are required to submit an adoption application and be approved. You can do this online here: yukonanimalrescue.net/adoption-application/ If you’ve applied before, you must message YARN to ask that your application be processed for this dog. Applications are considered in the order interest is received… But YARN will always pick the home that is best for “that dog”.

ADOPTABLE BOY - NEEDING A FOSTER HOME:

Hello... My name is “Little Brother”... My nose looks really sore -right...? Yesterday the vet pulled many leftover quills out of my face, including one quill on each side of my snoot, that had gone up into my nasal cavity & curled around... I was having a hard time breathing... But thankfully a bunch of critter loving folks donated, so I could get help... I should be feeling a lot better before long. Now I just need a place to rest as I heal, while YARN seeks my new home... Maybe I can find someone willing to foster - with possible intent to adopt...?

UPDATE ON QUILLED HUSKY’s...

Thanks so much to everyone who has donated so far...

The boy named "Little brother" saw the vet today, where several quills were removed, including one on each side, that went up into the nasal cavity and curled... That would explain the wheezing sounds...

The other boy named “My Friend” will be at the vet first thing tomorrow, where he is scheduled to take a little nap while they remove the rest of his quills, when they can fit him in between...

If you had a few spare dollars to help these boys:

E-Transfer to: Cheryl@YukonAnimalRescue.net
Paypal: paypal.me/HelpYARN
On Weekdays you can donate directly to Alpine Vet – Call: (867) 633-5700 (credit card)

FOSTER HOME – FOR TWO OUTDOOR DOGS:
AND DONATIONS FOR VET BILLS AGAIN:

Two Huskies who were quilled, are being surrendered from a community…. Their family pulled as many quills as they could… but they couldn’t get them all – and the male (in this picture) is wheezing now…. and they are unable to deal with this further. After healing, they will be re-homed so they do not come in contact with porcupines again.

If not helped, it’s possible the male may have to be put down... But, to accept them YARN needs help…!

They have a ride to the city today (Sunday Sept 19)…. They need a confirmed foster with a securely fenced yard, with a shelter and the ability to tether one dog… Both would have to be tethered or leashed – if no fenced yard. I’m told they let strangers’ approach, with no signs of aggression, and wagging their tails. That foster will have to get the dogs to the vet as required – possibly tomorrow for the Male as he is wheezing. I’m afraid I have no further info about them until mid-day tomorrow…

Sunday is the call out vet and after-hours fees. Quill removal is costly, involving knocking them out at a minimum. I know we just did a fundraiser on Friday for another dog… Any extra funds from that will go towards these quilled Husky’s… But YARN will need further donations to pay their vet bills.

DONATIONS CAN BE SENT TO:

E-Transfer to: Cheryl@YukonAnimalRescue.net
Paypal: paypal.me/HelpYARN
All funds received by YARN, will be turned over to Alpine Vet.

Normally the first choice listed is donating directly to the vet... But Alpine Vet is closed on the weekends…. They help animals every day but are unable to accept donations on Sunday…. They sure are busy these days, so I want to call them on Monday and be sure they are OK to accept folks donations and then I can post info about the way that is easiest for them….

WHITEHORSE FOSTER NEEDED:

A lovely preggers dog will be flying in from a remote community... (I don't have a real picture of her yet)... She’s about ready to pop they say... So no time to waste... Must get her to the city before she gives birth...

This mama is an outside only dog, Medium Size, who is used to being tethered. Do you have a nice comfy dog house - or maybe a shed that she could be housed in... while she waits for a ride to get her to YARN in Watson Lake...? If you had a really high, securely fenced yard, maybe she would not have to be tied while in the city... Send YARN a message if you could foster her for a few days...

She is good with kids and other dogs... Don’t know if she has met cats... They say she is a sweet girl.

HELP NEEDED:

Hi… I am “Pangga”… My old name was “Skateboard” from YARN’s “Tricks Litter”…

There I was at my new home - just running up the steps outside (like all puppies do)…. When my foot slid and was trapped between 2 steps…. They say my “momentum” pushed the rest of my body forward, which broke both bones in my upper left front leg… They say I need an amputation, so I can still have a good quality life with my Dad.

Dad “totally” wasn’t prepared for this huge expense – just two months after adopting me… We are so lucky that a kind neighbour stepped forward to loan us the money, so surgery could go forward… Dad says it’s gonna be a struggle to pay all that back – but we’ll scrape together all we can and pay more whenever we are able… The neighbour suggested we do a fundraiser to to see if some kind folks might help out – so we can repay that loan back faster.

Do you have a few dollars to spare…?

There is a vet in Dawson Creek who fixes these kinds of breaks with pins. It costs about $2000 for the surgery. The front leg is more critical to the dog than the back leg. I would consider this if someone can drive him the 14 hours each way. Stay over in a hotel, then drive him home.

Pangga happy to be back home with daddy going on a wee walk Thanks for all that have donated so far

I feel like amputating it is such a severe reaction— there must be some alternative?? I’d love to donate

2 DAY FOSTER HOME NEEDED:

The little black girl is “Todechund”... She is 16” tall at the front shoulders... She needs a foster home for the next two days... She has a ride back to her home on Thursday afternoon - around 3PM... She kennels very well... and loves human attention...

Being a young mama, she is not sure how to act around other dogs when she is in the same home as her pups... We don’t know how she is with cats or kids... So maybe an all adult home, with no other pets...? A securely fenced yard, or a 100% leashing/tethering policy would be needed, to keep her safely contained.

Send YARN a message if you could foster this little one...

FOSTER NEEDED…

Again, Churro is looking for a foster home, while YARN seeks her furever home… Her second foster family started fostering with possible intent to adopt Churro – but it turns out one of the foster family are highly allergic to her…

The longer she is in YARN’s care, the more we learn about her. This is what her current foster says:

Good sides:
• Very playful and sociable, very cuddly (likes to sleep with us in our bed, cuddles on the couch)
• She likes being with humans, she won’t go to bed until we are sleeping!!
• A has a lot of energy…. She would be able to follow anyone biking, hiking, running, any sports. She loves to move a lot.
• She doesn’t bark, ever!
• She is very, very good at recall…! The times we tried her off leash, she was awesome… she doesn’t run away and comes every time we call her (with treats!!)
• She is very food motivated; she will do anything for treats…
• She knows basic commands, sit, down, understands “No” and listens well.

Bad sides:
• Very protective with food (can attack if a dog gets close to her food but easy to manage if you keep an eye on her, we see improvements since we stay close to her when our dogs are eating, it’s just something that is good to know).
• She will chew stuff when left alone for a long time, but reacts well with Kong’s, toys. When our dogs are with her and they are alone she doesn’t chew anything at all.
• She can be protective of her house – again a behaviour that is workable!
• She will take food off the counter.

These behaviors are just lack of experience living in a house…. Some will improve with time, as she learns that food and love will always be available, and are things that can be changed with a patient adopter, who leads an active lifestyle….

But for now, she needs a foster that is home most of the time, and has a well-adjusted dog or two… to be company when the humans do have to be out. Dogs should be fed separately. And food shouldn’t be left on the counter. A securely fenced yard would keep her safe in the city… Or the foster would have to use a 100% leashing/tethering policy anytime Churro is outside of the house.

All potential adopters are required to submit an adoption application and be approved. You can do this online here: yukonanimalrescue.net/adoption-application/ If you’ve applied before, you must message me to ask that your application be processed for this dog. Applications are considered in the order interest is received… But YARN will always pick the home that is best for “that dog”.

She's absolutely stunning🥰 How big is she ?

Any news on how she is around cats or travelling?

She's beautiful! If I didn't have a full house I'd foster her. ❤️

FOSTER / ADOPTER NEEDED:

Churro has almost healed up now – and it is time for her to find her fur-ever home… But for now – she needs to find another foster home, NOW as her foster Mom is moving….

Her foster mom describes her as super sweet and eager to please…. A truly remarkable and gentle animal, who is so willing to learn… She loves everyone… She will lay at your feet and lick your ankles… They have been working on leash training together…. She would benefit from a family with time to continue her training.

Churro was an outside, tethered dog, but is doing great and no mistakes living in the house… She would do best in a home with another well-adjusted active dog, with a securely fenced yard – to play all day long. She may have some prey drive, and her history with cats is unknown, so no small pets perhaps. She will need an active family able to provide ample exercise and adventures daily…. She can run like the wind, so maybe an owner who jogs, or skijoring is in her future…? She is not a barker, preferring to listen to outside sounds with a tilt of her head.

Churro is at a foster home in Whitehorse if you would like to meet her.

ALL potential adopters are required to submit an adoption application and be approved. You can do this online here: yukonanimalrescue.net/adoption-application/ Applications are considered in the order interest is received for each dog… But YARN will always pick the home that is best for “that dog”.

UPDATE: The mama dog came back today - and the quills were gone... So clearly she is owned by someone... And they took care of it.

If you happen to know who owns her... Please tell them about my litter deal... They surrender all pups - I spay the mama and give her back - for free. ;). (so pups are homed responsibly)

“ QUILLED MOTHER DOG "... WATSON LAKE
IN THE VILLAGE OF TWO MILE... PLEASE SHARE...!!!

I’m told there is a Large Size Black Dog with White Legs - who currently has a litter of pups somewhere - that has been wandering around Two Mile for a couple weeks - very hungry. Yesterday when she came around, she had a face full of quills... She could not eat the food that was offered... It’s really important those quills get removed, so she can eat - as she is still nursing pups...!!!

Anyone know who owns a dog like this...? Or if not owned... Where her den is...?

I would do my litter deal with that owner... They surrender all the pups - and I spay their mama dog for free and give her back.

The folks who reported her - have been waiting for her to come back this evening - so they could follow her to where her pups are...

People should be barred from owning animals if they can’t treat them well.

People if u can’t care for a animal, don’t have one.

I am heading down south tomorrow night/Wednesday early morning. I will keep my eyes open and can do a drive through the area to see If I can spot her. Is there a road she was spotted on?

Ohh mamma!!! please help find her. please??

Thank you for the update:) much appreciated
