ADOPTABLE FEMALE:
This is Lucy… She is an 8-Month-Old Golden Retriever Cross…? She is from the “Brady Bunch” litter. (Alice) She is about 65lbs.
Her current foster family began fostering Lucy in March, with intent to adopt… And they truly adore her – but it turns out Lucy needs a home where someone is home most of the time, and a canine companion to keep her company would be great…. As she suffers from separation anxiety, when left alone…
Here is what her fosters know about sweet Lucy:
“Lucy” is just a sweetheart… She’s an easy going dog and is attentive, learns quickly and likes to snuggle”. Lucy is a definite fit with families and children. She is smart & quick, kind & gentle and is submissive & tolerant. No nipping, no regular/nuisance barking or jumping up, and no resource guarding. Lucy is house trained (mostly, read on) and sleeps well in a crate at nighttime. She is a sweetheart who will sit or lay down for pets. Lucy is laid-back for the most part and is still being socialized to new household sounds like the smoke detector!
We think Lucy will do best with humans who are home more often through the day, or who have another furry friend – this supports her comfort and company and eases stress being left alone for longer periods of time. Accidents may happen if her humans are distracted by her play, indoors or out, rather than helping her focus on doing her business first. Whining, barking, and sitting up at the door are indoor signs she needs to go out. Regular exercise, play, and attention helps reduce puppy behaviour related to chewing and paws on the counter.
Lucy loves pets and rubs, playtime, walks & runs, her chew toys, and her crate for quiet time. Treats go a long way to learning new skills and behaviour, a work in progress. Lucy plays well with people and animals (cats and dogs), she is spayed, travels like a rock star and really will be your best friend!
ALL potential adopters are required to submit an adoption application and be approved. You can do this online here: yukonanimalrescue.net/adoption-application/ If you have applied before; DO NOT apply again… Your application is filed… Instead - send a message through the YARN page, to ask that your application be considered for a specific dog. Applications are considered in the order that “interest is received” for each dog… But YARN will always pick the home that is best for “that dog”.

What a sweetheart! 💕🤗 We have adopted a beautiful pup through YARN who we love so much and has been a great addition to the fam. It's so tempting. If my housing situation were different I'd be adopting you miss Lucy. Hope you're able to find the furrever home you deserve!
Does anyone have a contact for this Rescue ? My daughter is trying to reach them as they have not returned her multiple attempts to contact regarding one of their dogs in her care for emergency temporary foster
She's beautiful 😍, I wish but never have reply

Did Lucy find a home? For anyone thinking about Lucy…I have her brother and he’s the sweetest boy in the world. Very very smart, easy to train. 10/10 recommend.
Did this girl find her forever home? I am looking for a companion for our 8 year old Labradoodle after losing our 12 year old lab.
IS YOUR YARN PUP 6 MONTHS OLD...?
AND NOT SPAYED / NEUTERED YET...?
I have a spay appointment for tomorrow morning, Wednesday May 10th... I could let one of my adopters use this appt. You would pay the bill - I just get you in immediately (adopters are required to spay at 6 months old).
Yep - it's short notice... But it is often a 3 Month Wait to get a spay appt.

FOSTER NEEDED:
“Penguin” needs a new foster home…. His current fosters began major home renovations 2 days ago… so Penguin needs a new place to hang until the shelter has space to take him, or he finds his fur-ever home – whichever comes first…
ABOUT PENGUIN:
Hello…. I am “Penguin” a Handsome, 6-Month-Old Male pup from the “Bird” litter. I look a lot like my Mom, a Golden Lab Cross…? Dad was a one-night stand and mama ain’t talkin’… but looks like he might be a Husky… I am a Medium/Large Sized dog, who would love an active life with a family that takes their dogs along on the adventures…
My last foster says I am a really nice dog, who is active and energetic, good with kids and babies, housetrained, and have experience being locked in my "room" when the humans are away. No experience with cats, but I’ve lived with my sister since birth. I am good on leash.
ALL potential adopters are required to submit an adoption application and be approved. DOG NEEDING A RIDE...
Watson Lake to Whitehorse... When...? Tuesday April 4th or later... Any ride that arrives in the city, while the Mae Bachur Animal Shelter is "Open"... See hours in the comments...
HSY agreed they can take this girl... A 1-Year-Old, Medium Sized, Female. She may argue with other female dogs, as she is not spayed yet... so a ride without other pets would be calmer.
Send YARN a message if you can be part of this girl's path to her new life...

PART TIME CAT… ANYONE…?
This lovely lady is a YARN foster… Due to health issues, it becomes harder with time to care for her pets. She already had to rehome her two very loved pugs…. 🙁
Now she needs a family willing to share her cat in the beginning, eventually moving into an adoption. This will allow her to have critter love, at a level that is manageable for her, as long as possible…
We all know how much difference animal love can make in our health on every level… Can you help make this happen…?

WHITEHORSE FOSTER NEEDED:
This boy named "July" is seeking a new foster home... His current foster's schedule does not allow him to continue fostering... Could this fella visit with you for a bit...?
Hello… My name is: “July”… I am a handsome 5-Month-Old, Male pup, from YARN's - “Months” litter. I take after my Mom who looks like a Blonde Lab Cross, who also has Pitbull in her mix. Dad was a one-night stand and mama ain't talkin'... but maybe he was a Manchester Terrier or Min-Pin…? Half of my siblings look like him. We could be anywhere from Medium to Large Size… I currently weigh 35 lbs.
My foster says: “July” is very playful but also loves a cozy spot to relax. He’s puppy pad trained. Likes to play in the snow but not for too long. He loves to snuggle with other dogs but also with us and the kids. He plays gentle with the kids and can play hard with the big and small dogs. He’s only been in the car twice and wasn’t too stressed. He loves to chew bones. He sleeps in a large crate at night.

He looks so lovely..😍
Feel free to send me a message if you have questions about this pup.
Is he good with other dogs, is over his destructive phase, Is he potty trained?
Hello… My name is: “April”… I am a cute little girl, from the “Months” litter. I am a smaller 5-Month-Old pup who will likely grow to a Medium Size. Maybe Dad was a Manchester Terrier or Min-Pin…? About 5 of us look like him - I’m the smallest of those… Mom looks like a Blonde Lab Cross... She also has Pitbull in her mix.
My foster says: April must be the runt of the litter because she was 11 lbs when we weighed her last week. She is shy with strangers but is very curious, playful and goofy and loves to cuddle and be carried around. She has a lot of love to give and is excited to give kisses and be petted. She has great recall, is almost getting the hang of being house trained. April is kennel trained and loves her kennel, it is her safe space and favorite place to nap.

Hello… My name is: “November”… I am a pretty 5-Month-Old, Female pup, from YARN's - “Months” litter. I take after my Mom who looks like a Blonde Lab Cross, who also has Pitbull in her mix. Dad was a one-night stand and mama ain't talkin'... but maybe he was a Manchester Terrier or Min-Pin…? Half of my siblings look like him. I weight 13 lbs and will likely grow to a Medium Size.
My foster says about me: “November runs fast and likes to play, like every puppy, but also has a very cuddly personality. She loves being held and carried like a baby, so much that she will run up to strangers and try to get them to pick her up! She would thrive in a home with lots of people to cuddle with. She has great recall and loves the kennel as well. She enjoys playing with our dog and has been good with every dog she has met. November is mostly house-trained and is great on walks.

Hello…. I am “Penguin” a Handsome, 4.5-Month-Old, Male pup from the “Bird” litter. I look a lot like my Mom, who looks to be a Golden Lab Cross…? Dad was a one-night stand and mama ain’t talkin’… but by the looks of half my siblings, he was a Husky… I expect I will be a Large size dog who will enjoy an active life with a family that takes their dogs along on the adventures… I am at a foster home in Whitehorse and ready to meet approved adopters.
My foster says: Both "Goose" and "Penguin" are active and energetic dogs. Goose is medium size, Penguin is bigger. Good with kids and babies - especially Goose. Housetrained, experience being locked in their "room" when we're away. No dogs/cats experience. Good on leash. I hope they both find caring owners, they're really nice dogs!

Hello… My name is: “December”… I am a pretty 4.5-Month-Old, Female pup, from YARN's - “Months” litter. My Mom looks like a Blonde Lab Cross, who also has Pitbull in her mix. Dad was a one-night stand and mama ain't talkin'... but maybe he was a Manchester Terrier or Min-Pin…? Half of my siblings look like Mom…. Half look like Dad… I’m in the middle…! I could be anywhere from Medium to Large Size… I currently weigh 27 lbs.
My foster says: December” is a happy and adventurous pup with a vibrant character. They say I am curious and like to “check things out”. I enjoy walks and lead the way when off leash. I greet other humans and dogs politely and come when called. I am highly observant and sometimes a little nervous when I see something new. I sleep up to 8 hours a night in my crate. I have limited experience travelling in the car, but so far have done well. I am food motivated and do well with treat training. I love giving kisses and enjoy snuggles, but also independent, a good mix of both. I am almost house trained. While I know to go to the door, I am very quiet about it. When the human is distracted, I sometimes use the towel by the door. I get along well with other dogs. I am naturally protective of my toys, though I let my foster human take things without protest. I might alert you to strange sounds with a couple of barks. I enjoy wrestling and napping with the cat. My foster human thinks I would make a great companion for an active person and will form a strong bond.
