Hello... I am “Chance” I am almost 6 Months Old, a Male from YARN’s - “Home Free” litter…. My mom “Roxy” is a Lab Cross Medium/Large Size… My Dad was a one-night stand and mama ain’t talkin’… I am at a foster home in Whitehorse, where I can meet approved adopters.

They expect I will be a Medium Sized Dog… I would benefit from an active family, that has time to do some training with me… and likes to take their dog(s) along on the family adventures…. I will need exercise on a regular basis, to be healthy & Happy.

I am at a foster home in Whitehorse, ready to meet approved adopters. My foster mom says I am very sweet, playful, pretty lovely and smart…! I am understanding the leash training quickly…. I still lack confidence – but that should improve with socialization and training.

ALL potential adopters are required to submit an adoption application and be approved. You can do this online here: yukonanimalrescue.net/adoption-application/ If you have applied before; DO NOT apply again… Your application is filed… Instead - send a message through the YARN page, to ask that your application be considered for a specific dog. Applications are considered in the order that “interest is received” for each dog… But YARN will always pick the home that is best for “that dog”.

I bought it from Canadian Tire when I was fostering. Walmart had the wrong type when I went there - bought the wrong one the first time.

Canadian Tire has Purina Puppy Chow. Although, the picture is different.

FOSTERS REALLY NEEDED….!

YARN has 28 pups left to find homes for. (Down from 72 pups in late November). I promise that I will stop bugging y’all once those babies have found their fur-ever homes…. Because YARN is shutting down immediately after that…! But the 28 pups really need your help – until then…

Last night – one person accepted my last litter of 11 pups – the “Months” litter… She agreed to keep them overnight – get them to the vet appt today (happening now)… And I agreed I would line up fosters – to take two pups each – “today”… She can only keep them until 4 or 5 this afternoon…!! A few people messaged – I thought it was covered, so I sent them to Whitehorse… But only a couple of those fosters have come through for the “Months” litter.

Also a couple of fosters who have been fostering for a while now – are leaving on pre-planned trips later this week… I will really need fosters to take over those pups – until they are adopted – or I send them to a rescue down south…

I cannot even describe how challenging it has been the past couple of months – but I am determined to make sure the animals I accepted responsibility for – will find homes, before YARN is finished… (including the dogs/pups that have been fostered with intent to adopt for a long time now).

Since shutting down intakes in early December, YARN has turned away 11 Litters – for a total of 71 puppies.

YARN is shutting down?? Well, you've earned it, but first I've heard. Thanks for your work.

You are one of a kind Cheryl. What you have done for hundreds of dogs over the years is nothing short of incredible. Your expertise and committment will be missed big time - time to rest now and take care of yourself. Thankyou.

WE NEED FOSTERS...

One foster will be accepting all Eleven of us this evening... and keeping us overnight (not for the faint-hearted)... Tomorrow around Noon - after our vet appointment, other fosters can meet in Whitehorse to pick up foster pups. Or drive to the fosters home later.

Hello… I am “Brother” – a 4-Month-Old, Male Yukon Special, from the “Family Litter”… YARN guesstimates I will be a large sized dog, who will need an active family, who likes to take their fur-family along on all the adventures… I am at a foster home in Whitehorse, where I can meet approved adopters. My foster says I am kind and gentle and extremely loyal.

YARN’S LAST LITTER – FOSTERS NEEDED:

The “Months” litter have been at YARN with Cheryl for the past 6 Weeks… Tomorrow they have their vet appointment in Whitehorse – and I think I have a ride for them this morning…! Time to get out in the world and find their fur-ever families…!

I need one or two fosters to take all of the pups – just overnight…. Then get them to their Vet Appointment late Wednesday morning…. Then take them home again… And other fosters will come pick up pups.

They are too old to all stay together going forward… so they need foster homes that will take "two or more pups each"…. Siblings keep each other entertained while Cheryl finds their fur-ever homes.

These ones must have had a smaller Dad… Cause they are not very big for 13-Weeks-Old… Half of them look like Min-Pin Crosses…. And half look like Lab Cross, like their mama – but still not as big as a regular Lab pup for this age.

I have too many messages… Please remind me - if you offered to foster before…. If you are able to foster a couple pups now, send me a me a message through the YARN page…

YARN still has older pups from other litters needing homes too… Going forward adoptions should happen faster, as my time is freed up by not caring for pups too.

Their mama is an amazing dog. She is absolutely great with our kids, loves to play with other dogs and is overall just very easy going! She loves going on extended walks, or ski-runs (we haven't taught her how to pull yet). But definitely enjoys anything outdoors! She is great around our horses as well.

These puppies have been great with our two Samoyed girls! The big girls are teaching them good behaviour!

Honest... We didn't kill no "stuffy"...!

These babes are the "Bird" Litter... They are coming to Whitehorse to see the vet, and find their fur-ever homes…. They need foster homes that will take two or more siblings - which keeps them entertained while YARN finds their fur-ever families. Their vet appointment is Wed, Jan 11th… They can go to approved adopters after that…

Once I have fosters - I can post to find them a ride, with someone already driving from Watson Lake to Whitehorse... They “must” be in the city, for that vet appointment on Wednesday.

ADOPTABLE MALE PUP:

Hello... My name is “Adam”. I am a 5.5-Month-Old, Male puppy from the “Home Free” litter…. I am 18” tall at the front shoulders now. My mom “Roxy” is a Lab Cross Medium/Large Size… YARN will put her picture in the comments below, on the original post. My Dad was a one-night stand and mama ain’t talkin’… I am at a foster home in Whitehorse, where I can meet approved adopters.

My foster mom says I am an incredibly Sweet little guy, who loves and just wants to please “his people”... I am loyal and very smart. I am potty trained, kennel trained, have fantastic recall for a puppy my age, and already check in regularly when on the trails. I come alive on our walks, constantly jumping and frolicking in the snow…. I get along well with other dogs and I am interested in and kind to the foster cat. I love to play, chew, cuddle and be petted.

My foster also says: I am very timid… I’m very afraid of people who aren’t my people… I won’t come out of my kennel until I’m comfortable, which may take hours…. My fosters are helping me to work on this at my pace… I’m looking for a patient family, who has another well-balanced adult dog to carry on teaching me to feel confident and secure…

“WOOD LITTER” – ADOPTABLE PUPS:

Their ”Super Patient” foster family took these great pictures of the Four remaining “Wood Litter” pups… enjoying the warmer temperatures and lots of outdoor play time… Their Mom is a Medium Sized, White Shepherd Cross, about 40lbs. Their Dad is a Large, Black Fluffy boy… I will put pictures of the parents in the comments on this post. The fosters think they will be 40 to 50 lbs…? One maybe bigger - at 70 lbs…? Some of the siblings are smaller with shorter hair… and some are fluffy like dad…. They will need active family’s with time for training, and exercise, who take their dogs along on the adventures… They are 11 Weeks Old, and ready to meet approved adopters, and could go to approved homes Jan 2nd or later….

ALL potential adopters are required to submit an adoption application and be approved.
