Silver
This beautiful large girl is Silver… She is the girl who tangled with a Porcupine… and was shot back in September… She is all healed up and has been spayed… And now she is ready to find her fur-ever home… What a sweet gentle girl she is… Very loving, affectionate, and calm… She really is a special dog.
Silver plays really well with all dogs, including being very gentle with the smallest ones. She lives with a cat at her foster home and has met kids there as well… She was gently curious and then fine with both… She is a quiet girl – not at all a barker…
Silver is a very large, two year old Husky / possibly part wolf (so the villagers say). Some of her features seem to support that claim, but she doesn’t have a super thick coat…
Silver transitioned from outdoor dog to indoor dog easily… She has been living indoors now for 3 months and she loves being part of the family… She doesn’t make mistakes in the bathroom dept., however it is clear that she had some hungry days in her old life… She is easily tall enough and “will” take an opportunity to sneak food off the counter if it is left out… We hope that will fade when she realizes she will get food every day from now on. Silver needs more practice at kenneling, for increasing amounts of time, before being left for a long period of time, as she seems to suffer a bit of anxiety when all human’s leave… She is a large girl who will need an XL Kennel… Or perhaps her new owner will have a heated porch, or small room she can hang in, when she has to be alone…?
Silver is at a foster home in Whitehorse if you would like to meet her… All potential adopters must submit an adoption application.
